O papel do Observatório para o Futuro da Educação de Infância como “espaço de reflexão e investigação sobre os desafios que se colocam à Educação de Infância” pressupõe a abertura para acolher as vozes dos educadores de infância sobre a infância, as práticas educativas, o papel do profissional ou os seus contextos laborais.
Esta iniciativa pretende constituir-se como um recurso que liga, de forma direta, as vozes dos profissionais e a comunidade em geral, através do OFEI, permitindo que, a partir de questões emergentes, as vozes dos educadores sejam disseminadas e ouvidas.
Para a sua implementação, o OFEI conta com todos, quer na definição de temas atuais e que interessam à infância, quer na partilha de testemunhos que serão publicados periodicamente no site do OFEI.

The role of the Observatory for the Future of Early Childhood Education as a “space for reflection and research on the challenges facing early childhood education” presupposes openness to welcoming the voices of early childhood educators on childhood, educational practices, the role of professionals and their work contexts.
This initiative aims to be a resource that directly connects the voices of professionals and the community in general through OFEI, allowing the voices of educators to be disseminated and heard based on emerging issues.
For its implementation, OFEI is counting on everyone, both in defining current topics of interest to children and in sharing testimonies that will be published periodically on the OFEI website.

Mission
The Observatory, based at Higher School of Education Paula Frassinetti, is a space for reflection and research into challenges facing Early Childhood Education.
It arises from the need to build multidisciplinary approaches and holistic perspectives for understanding educational intervention that bring out differentiating references for the training of educators, reconfiguring the active participation of educational communities and new models of socio-pedagogical institutions.
It takes on the responsibility of contributing to a current and renewed understanding of educational processes at the early childhood level, based on continuous research that not only makes it possible to understand reality(ies) but also to disseminate and promote the inevitability of change.
